Game 93 Recap - Cardinals vs Pirates

Cardinals waste Flaherty's dominant outing, drop game to Pirates

The Cardinals did it again. Jack Flaherty threw 7 fantastic innings, only allowing one run and striking out eight Pirates hitters. The only offense came from Flaherty as well, as his double in the fifth inning proved to be the only run of the game for the Cardinals. In the bottom of the 7th the Cardinals had men on first and third with no outs and guess what, they failed to score once again. Flaherty was the only bright spot in this game, as there were plenty of missed opportunities.

The rest of the game went as follows:

• Pirates pitching shut the Cardinals down, with their starter Dario Agrazal??? going six strong innings.

• Pittsburgh scored one run on a couple of hits in the top of the 5th inning.

• Gallegos tossed a good looking shut out 8th inning.

• Carlos gave up two runs in the top of the 9th inning.

• The Cardinals went down in order in the bottom of the 9th.

The Cardinals are back in action tomorrow and will look to take the rubber match against Pittsburgh. Game time is set for 12:15 p.m. Fingers crossed for some offense.

Thanks for reading, Nick
