The offense is still horrendous.
We are back to under (.500). Ponce got screwed, Jack Flaherty knows that feeling (see last start before all-star break). And Matt Daddy Wieters keeps hitting taters from the right-side of the plate.
Christian Walker, Goldy’s replacement in Arizona, cashed in on Ponce’s only mistake– a middle-in fastball catching a lot of the plate, for a solo shot. Jake Lamb and Ketel Marte added the daggers shots to put an end to the Cardinals chances, beating the Cards 4-2.
The Cardinals finished the game with 4 hits, 12 strikeouts, and 6 runners LOB.
Dakota Hudson (7-4, 3.51) takes the ball tomorrow evening looking to get the Cards back to (.500), matching up against right-handed rookie, Merrill Kelly (7-8, 4.03). First pitch 6:15pm c/t.
Cheers, Stew
