Part 1: Bummer.
After giving up 3 runs in the 3rd, the game turned into a bummer. Ask Lisa Lo who was in attendance. She's sending out her S.O.S.
Part 2: Not Fun.
Down 3-0 in the top of the 4th, the Cubs have runners on 1st and 3rd and 1 out. Lester lays down a squeeze bunt, scoring the runner and advancing to 2nd on the play (throwing error by Molina). After a sac fly by Almora Jr, the Cubs lead 5-0.
In the bottom of the 4th, Marcell Ozuna connects for a laser shot over the visiting bullpen in left center field. I'd like to think he hit that for Stew on his birthday.
Part 3: Torture
Oh, we haven't even gotten to the best part yet and I have already put more time into this than it's even worth it. With out going into any detail whatsoever the Cubs scored 6 runs in the top of the 5th. Knocking Wacha during that inning, leaving him with a slash line of 4 IP, 7H, 8ER, 2K, and giving up 3 HR's.
I probably could have just put this tweet to recap the game.
I don't know if it was just my Friday night kicking in, but it seemed like things just got weird as the game went along.
Let's look at the positives
Thank you Anna. Gotta appreciate finding the beauty in ugly.
Probably the most positive thing said from CardsCards all season.
Lucky, Alex.
Oh, this had nothing to do with the game. I just wanted to share it it. Thanks Norm.
Carlos gets the ball for the Saturday Evening Game. I'd give stats but it doesn't even matter. I'd let you know who's pitching for the Cubs, but again, it doesn't really matter. Baseball is weird.
This has been @cardinalsgifs filling in for Stew on the recap.
