Game 46 Recap Milwaukee Brewers vs St. Louis Cardinals

What a day for the Arizona boys!!! Goldy included, sorta, you understand.

Matthew Liberatore would make his Busch Stadium debut with his best friend playing 2B, batting second. Liberatore would start his afternoon with back-to-back strikeouts, getting McCutchen and Urías on fastballs at 94mph and 95mph.

After a Yelich single, Libby would get Taylor to flyout to Bader.

Nolan Gorman would put one on the board quick for his guy, launching his 1st career HR on a high fastball from Houser- 110.6mph exit velocity, 449 feet!!! Sent that thing all the way over the Cards bullpen, the longest HR at Busch this season.

Libby would cruise thru the rest of his outing, only giving up one more hit (Urías 1B), while adding 4 more strikeouts. His best performance came in the 4th, after the first two reached on a leadoff walk and Gorman fielding error, Libby would buckle down and get the next two himself. Liberatore would strikeout Hiura and Cain on low 90s sinkers, then getting his final out on a Mathias groundout to Nado.

Gorman and Goldy would open things up in the 3rd, after back-to-back singles from Bader and Edman, Gorman would rope a single into RF to score Bader. A batter later, Goldy would lift off with his 10th HR of the season, hitting a 3-run shot to RCF to extend his on-base streak (33 games) and hitting streak (19 games).

The pair would do damage again an inning later. Gorman would lace a two-run double into RF to score Dickerson and Edman, Goldy followed suit and drove in Gorman with a single to LF. They would both add singles to their games, too, finishing a combined (7/8, 2 HR, double, 8 rbi).

Cardinals would hang on to win, 8-3, looking to take three of four tomorrow afternoon. Mikolas (3-2, 1.96) will matchup against Corbin Burnes (2-2, 2.18). First pitch scheduled for 1:15pm c/t.

We will just label this the Arizona boys game, why not?

Cheers, Stew
