Well, well, well....
Here we are....
(I know you love this as much me....)
Again.
Same story, two days in a row. A brutal inning was the dagger, as the Phillies struck with a huge 4 run 5th inning. That inning went like this: walk to Realmuto, rbi double to Herrera, Williams single, Carp error on Franco, Eickhoff sac bunt, Hernández two run double, pop out to Segura, walk to Harper, walk to Hoskins, pop out to Realmuto.
In total it took Flaherty 43 pitches to finish the inning, ultimately chasing him from the game.
Eickhoff went beast mode. And who would’ve thought? A soft tossing pitcher vs the Cardinals? No way!
Eickhoff tossed 8 shutout innings, allowing only three hits, two to Jive Muñoz (singles to LF), striking out four.
The Cardinals (21-16) welcome in a familiar division opponent for four games starting tomorrow night, as the Pirates (17-16) come to town.
Wacha Flocka Flame (2-0, 5.17) gets the ball in game-one, matching up against Joe Musgrove (1-3, 2.63). First pitch 6:45pm c/t.
Cheers, Stew
